Ginseng originates from the woods of East Asia and is grown in China, Korea, Japan and Bulgaria, among other countries. Ginseng extract is derived from its roots, since they have a high concentration of saponins, essential oils, polysaccharides, vitamins, amino acids and trace elements. Among its known properties, the most popular is hair growth stimulation.

For over 4000 years, eastern doctors prescribed Ginseng as a tonic and essential restorer of the body. It also appears in Hindu Veda, which represent the old sacred scriptures of India. In China, the decoction of the root is used to invigorate the body.

In the cosmetic field, Ginseng root is used to formulate creams, shampoos or root decoctions intended to improve skin tone and turgor and to strengthen the hair. Its positive effect on collagen regeneration has been proven, which is why it is used in anti-ageing and firming cosmetics. As well as having other antioxidant virtues, it is used in alopecia treatments, since many studies have shown it to be a stimulating agent in hair growth.
